Lambeth council statement: Councillor resignation

Labour Cllr Chris Marsh, who represented Prince’s ward in Lambeth, has resigned from his position due to ill health.

A by-election for the seat on Lambeth council is expected to be held in May after notification of his decision to step down was made on Wednesday this week (March18).

Cllr Marsh said: “It is with regret that I have decided to step down from Lambeth council for health reasons. I would like to thank residents in Princes for electing me to the council last May and wish my successor all the best for the future.”

Cllr David Amos and Cllr Joanne Simpson, who were elected to represent the ward in May last year alongside Cllr Marsh, will be unaffected by the resignation.

Prince’s Ward which is in the north of the borough covers large sections of Vauxhall and Kennington, including Albert Embankment.
