Lambeth Mayor and cabinet announced

The new Mayor of Lambeth, Cllr Saleha Jaffer, was officially announced last night (April 13) at Lambeth Council’s Annual Meeting held at Elm Green School in Tulse Hill.

Cllr Jaffer will take over from Cllr Donatus Anyanwu who has performed the ceremonial duties since April last year. The new Deputy Mayor will be Cllr Marcia Cameron.

Lambeth council’s cabinet was also confirmed at the Annual General Meeting, with Cllr Mohammed Seedat coming in as joint cabinet member Healthier & Stronger Communities. Building on his success at the Mayor of Lambeth, Cllr Donatus Anyanwu will also come into the cabinet as the Lead Member for Community Relations.

Deputy Leader (Finance) – Cllr Imogen Walker
Adult Social Care – Cllr Jackie Meldrum

Families & Young People – Cllr Jane Pickard
Healthier & Stronger Communities – Cllr Jim Dickson & Cllr Mohammed Seedat (job share)

Lead Member for Community Relations – Cllr Donatus Anyanwu (attending Cabinet)
