A Masterplan is to be drawn up with residents in order to guide development in Loughborough Junction.
There are several regeneration opportunities in Loughborough Junction and residents feel a plan is needed to make sure all projects work together to improve the local area as a whole.
The council will work with the Loughborough Junction Action Group, who approached the council requesting a Masterplan for the area last month, as well as ward councillors and residents to develop the plan.
Cllr Jack Hopkins, Cabinet Member for Jobs & Growth, said: “Loughborough Junction is a really important area for growth in the borough and this Masterplan will help make sure that any development there is right for the area and the people who already live there.
“We will work with residents to produce the plan as they know their area best and deserve a say in how it grows.
“The community in Loughborough Junction is passionate about making the most of its potential and I’m excited that we’re working with them on this.”
Lambeth council has earmarked £50,000 for the plan which will be put together over the coming months and aims to guide how new homes can be delivered alongside space for enterprise and employment which works with existing communities.
The Masterplan will build on the Loughborough Junction Plan produced by the council and LJAG last year to focus on public realm improvements, and will be fed into a future review of the Lambeth Local Plan which is the statutory development plan for the whole of Lambeth.
