Jocelyn Brown – a singer who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry – will headline this year’s Lambeth Country Show.
Having sung some of the most recognisable lyrics around, including the number one hit The Power by Snap!, Brown is bringing her world-renowned voice to Brockwell Park this summer.
Her voice is still being used regularly in dance music hits and she has toured the world working with the likes of Luther Vandross, Bette Midler, John Lennon, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Roberta Flack, George Benson, Teddy Pendergrass, Culture Club, Masters At Work and many others.
Lee Fiorentino, Head of Events at Lambeth Council, said: “We’re delighted to have Jocelyn Brown coming to Lambeth to headline this year’s Country Show. It’s exciting to have such a global star and I’m sure she will put on one hell of a show.
“This year’s event is going to be bigger and better than ever and I’m really looking forward to seeing the tens of thousands of South Londoners come and enjoy themselves in one of the capital’s best parks.”
The 40th annual Lambeth Country Show, organised by Lambeth Council, is being held on the weekend of 19-20 July and will include food and horticultural shows and animal displays as well as live music performances, all with a distinctly urban South London vibe.
The festival, which won the National Outdoor Events Association Friendly Event of the Year for last year’s show, is free and regularly attracts more than 150,000 people.
Lambeth Council is holding a special preview event at the Town Hall in Brixton on Thursday 29th May for members of the community, businesses and media organisations to find out how they can get involved with the show and see a taster of what will be part of the main event.
