Around a quarter of Lambeth’s population changes each year so Lambeth’s leisure centres need to be fit to keep up. Lambeth council and GLL, who run the borough’s leisure centres have launched ‘Healthier for Longer, a series of rolling surveys that will help shape leisure facilities and activities.
Leader of Lambeth council, Cllr Lib Peck said: “Lambeth boasts some fantastic leisure centres and we want to hear your views on local leisure facilities so we can make sure that what’s on offer suits the local community and is flexible to change and grow. That way, all of us in Lambeth can be healthier for longer.”
First under the spotlight is Brixton Rec, much loved but some may argue, not used to its full potential. Anyone can complete the questionnaire, on line or on paper, that’s been developed with the Brixton Recreation Users Group.
As well as the survey, there’ll be a chance to meet leisure centre staff face to face, and take part in social media and real life forums to share ideas. The Brixton Rec survey will run for two months and in the summer, users of the new Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre will get their chance to comment on facilities and activities.
