Hundreds of local people have been involved in developing an outline plan that could see new homes, a hub for creative projects and a theatre in the heart of Brixton.
More details will be revealed on Thursday May 2 at a feedback event in Windrush Square.
There will be performances around the square by young performers from ovalhouse theatre and people from the theatre, Brixton Green, and Lambeth Council will be on hand to discuss the plans.
The Somerleyton Road site runs off Coldharbour Lane, Brixton and is on partly vacant land of around 15,000sqm in front of the Moorlands Estate and the Somerleyton Road project is a community partnership with Lambeth Council.
Cllr. Pete Robbins said: “ This will be a great opportunity to hear more about the ambitious plans that have been developed over the last few months and the next stage to turn them into a reality. The potential for more jobs, better homes, the arts and creative projects with a new theatre at the heart of it is fantastic. The Somerleyton Road project is a new approach for Lambeth, with the development shaped and brought to life by the community and the council working together.”
The feedback event runs in Windrush Square between 4 – 8.00pm.
Further details are on the Future Brixton website.
