Lambeth Living is hosting an information day on Saturday July 14 for its Streatham based tenants.
The free event, which takes place between 11am and 4pm on the Sackville estate and on the playing field opposite, will feature stalls, raffles and lots more and has been organised to let local people know how they can benefit from services offered by Lambeth Living and Lambeth Council, and to offer an opportunity for local people to talk directly to staff across a range of services..
Other agencies including the fire service, the local health trust and the police will also be on hand. Their stalls will feature advice and information on things like fire safety and community safety, and anyone attending the event can benefit from free health checks such as blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol tests.
Organised by Lambeth Living, the day will have something for everyone, from babes in arms to the most senior of citizens – and there will be goody bags for residents and young people.
Younger tenants will be able to enjoy activities and face-painting and a raffle will feature top prizes – with a kindle, ipod and camera up for grabs. There will also be information about the football sessions currently taking place on the Valley Road Playing field – which is working in partnership with the Fulham Football Club, and representatives from the council’s refuse and recycling services will be on hand for residents keen to learn more about ‘green and eco’ services.
Lambeth Living chair, Keith Hill, said: “This event should be great fun for the whole family. It will offer an excellent opportunity for residents to meet staff and to find out more about housing services and making the most of their local neighbourhood – but it’s not just about housing and council services, there will be lots going on with games, face painting and some fabulous prizes too”.
The information day takes place on Saturday July 14 between 11am and 4pm at the Sackville Estate (in the community hall in Drew House) and at the playing field opposite.
