Taking care of business

Lambeth Council in partnership with GLE One London, is running a series of ‘business surgeries’ throughout March, for Streatham based entrepreneurs keen to make sure their company is in the best possible health.

The FREE ‘surgeries’ will be held in Streatham and will offer support on a range of areas including accessing finance, business rate relief assessment, premises issues, dealing with landlords, marketing, and growing your business.

There are a number of opportunities to attend one of these sessions during March, and they will be held at 2-8 Gracefield Gardens, SW16 on March 2nd, 17th, and 30th, between 9.30am and 1pm.

Zoe Robinson, founder of award-winning personal style consultancy Think Style in Streatham – a business that encourages clients to dress more sustainably without compromising on style – says: “I found out about the Streatham business surgeries through Lambeth Life about six months ago and went for my first one-to-one around September time last year, which focused on marketing. I went on to sign up for a series of workshops held with GLE. It’s been incredibly useful for me and I wish I had known about them two years ago, before I started up – they have been very helpful.”

Councillor Sally Prentice, cabinet member for enterprise and employment said: “Lambeth is home to a number of innovative and exciting small and medium sized businesses, and we are committed to doing all we can to help them flourish – particularly in the current economic climate.

“The feedback we’ve had from people who have attended one of the surgeries shows that they have provided a positive boost to local businessmen and women, who have found them both useful and informative”.
