Lambeth to fly a flag for Armed Forces Day

To honour our Armed Forces the Chief of the Defence Staff has written to all local communities, encouraging them to ‘Fly a Flag’ simultaneously for Armed Forces Day at 10.30am on Monday 21 June 2010 (the Monday before the Armed Forces Day, until after 26th June), which happened very successfully last year. It is understood that every local authority will be provided with a flag.

We have the flag and the Mayor has agreed to do this which will take approximately 10 minutes on the roof of the town hall.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to honour this day. Flying the flag will show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to service families and from veterans to cadets,” said Mayor of Lambeth, Councillor Dr Neeraj Patil.
